Next phase to get the full aircraft permissions is flight testing. We have to do a long catalog of tests to make sure the Rebel is performing well.
Calibration of the air speed indicators is one of the early tests. For this we used the GPS method as suggested by NTPS (National test pilot school).
Stalls in different conditions (no bank, 30 degrees, no power, 75 % power) are also on the test plan.
We have successfully performed these tests and the Rebel is really making fun. No critical behaviour showed up during the tests. All the test have to be documented in detail. So again, no end to documentation …
The tests will in total probably need several months. Also hot fuel tests have to be performed, so we do not expect to finish the test phase before next summer. But at least we can fly this wonderful plane ….
