  • Hanger Gussets

    The newest manual requested for gusset on the hanger. I was not sure how to make them, but I’m happy with the result. In addition to the gussets I put one aluminum strip on the top of the hanger and one on the underside.

  • Moving back

    After fabricating the struts and the hanger, it is time to move back. It is a lot more convenient to be able to work in the home garage. This trailer from 1956 was perfect for transporting the wings.

  • Fairing Boxes

    After the wings were mounted, I could measure the distance for the fairing boxes. These boxes are fabricated by the builder himself out of 0.020 aluminum.

  • Mixer Detail

    Mixer mounted on the mixer arm. I decided to mount the mixer after the teleflex cable moun (as stated in the new version of the manual).   • Torque tube detail

    Detailed picture of the torque tube with push-pull tubes connected. I managed to temporarily install all this without removing the wings. Final installation will need wings removed.

  • Push Pull Tubes constructed

    The Push-Pull tubes have been constructed today. As mentioned by other builders on the list the length (tube only)  is 26 1/2 and 26 3/4 for my rebel. All the tubes and the mixer are temporarily mounted, to be corrosion protected from inside before riveting.

  • Torque Tube with hanger

    Today I partially mounted the torque tube, this is more time consuming than estimated.Working over head leaning backwards is hard, espacially when the temperatures are more than 35 degree Celsius in the workshop. Instead of using rivets for the hanger, I will use AN3 bolts. This will prevent sheared rivets been reported by experienced builders. […]

  • Both wings mounted

    This is one of the important steps of the building process: Both wings are installed. Struts are mounted and hold the wings by itself. Now you can see, it’s gonna be an airplane.
